Heat Pumps
MacFarlane Energy installs high-efficiency heat pumps from Thermo Pride, Rheem and other manufacturers. Heat pumps provide excellent efficiency during times of moderate heating need. Radiant Heat
Radiant heat is highly desirable for its comfort and efficiency. In place of baseboards and radiators, it uses large surfaces such as floors to emit heat. Heated water is piped under floors and through large radiant panels to provide a very satisfying quality of heat that radiates from the floor or panel.
Radiant heat can achieve higher efficiency than baseboard heat because it uses lower temperature water with larger radiant surfaces. Modern boilers equipped with advanced controls can use radiant emitters to produce the same amount of heat with less fuel and without noticeable changes in room temperature. With the addition of mixing valves, one boiler can deliver high-temperature water to baseboards in one part of the house while feeding lower-temperature radiant emitters in another part of the house.

Snow-Melt Systems
Snow-melt systems make winter safer and more convenient by using underground heating elements (similar to radiant heating systems) to keep walkways and driveways free of snow without shoveling. The systems draw heat from a boiler and can be programmed to turn on automatically when snow is falling.

Water heating generally accounts for about 15 percent of a home's energy use. MacFarlane Energy installs high-efficiency hot water heaters in a variety of types and brands. You can choose a standalone water heater that uses its own oil burner to produce virtually limitless amounts of hot water. We also install indirect-fired units that draw their heat from the central heating system and store a supply of heated water in a dedicated storage tank. Superstor
SuperStor oil-fired water heaters from HTP provide large quantities of hot water without consuming large amounts of energy, thanks to an 82% combustion efficiency rating. The water heater's tank is constructed of glass-lined steel and includes two anode rods to protect against corrosion of the tank. With three gallon sizes available, SuperStor indirect water heating systems are designed to produce hot water faster than competing systems at a competitive price.
Megastor
The Mega-Stor is a stainless-steel indirect water heater that provides abundant domestic hot water utilizing energy provided by your boiler. With a stainless steel, smooth surface coil that transfers heat throughout the tank, the Mega-Stor is capable of recovery rates well in excess of a typical water heater. The two-inch thick layer of polystyrene foam insulation keeps the water in your Mega-Stor Horizontal hot for hours during stand-by periods. Maxi-Therm 2 Water Heater
The Maxi-Therm 2 is a porcelain-enameled indirect water heater that provides abundant domestic hot water utilizing energy provided by your boiler. The porcelain-enameled tank is equipped with three sacrificial anode rods for maximum corrosion resistance and the coil is designed with a low pressure drop. The Maxi-Therm 2 also has two inch think CFC-free foam insulation keeps the water in your tank hot for hours during stand-by periods. Crown Maxi-Therm 2 water heaters are available in sizes ranging from 40 to 114 gallons to meet a variety of residential and commercial needs.

Mitsubishi Electric
If you've always wanted central air conditioning, but don't want to deal with the inconvenience of installing ductwork in your home, you'll appreciate the Mitsubishi "Mr. Slim" Ductless Mini-Split A/C System. This energy-efficient ductless system is perfect for installing in tight, compact spaces. The Mr. Slim consists of two units: a slim-line outdoor condenser, and an indoor air handler. The condenser supplies coolant to the air handler through refrigerant lines that run through a small opening in the wall or ceiling and into the back of the unit. Sanyo
Sanyo ductless air conditioning combines superior performance with excellent ease of installation. Sanyo systems combine a high-performance outdoor unit with an excellent selection of unobtrusive indoor units that can be mounted on a wall or ceiling. The indoor and outdoor units are connected by refrigerant tubing that is less than an inch in diameter, which enables our installers to deliver cooling to virtually any room with minimal disruption.
Sanyo wall-mounted air conditioners offer the utmost in versatility. By utilizing environmentally friendly R-410a refrigerant and DC Inverter technology, the Sanyo air conditioner automatically adjusts its performance to meet the changing needs of the space while maintaining the desired temperature. Fujitsu
